ValueNotes & Venture Valuation to provide valuation services in India

Pune, India – 20 April 2010: ValueNotes has partnered with Venture Valuation, a firm based in Switzerland, to provide valuation services on high growth Indian companies across sectors. The partnership will address the valuation needs of private equity and venture capital firms, entrepreneurs and firms looking for external funding, development agencies and other institutional investors.

Valuation services will include both company and product valuations, using a combination of various industry standard valuation methodologies and thorough assessment of critical soft factors.

– Company valuation reports will include a detailed assessment of the value drivers of the company including assessment of the management team, the science, technology and products, a summary of key risk factors and future potential, implications for further strategic development and value drivers for successful development of the company.

– Product valuation reports will include an assessment of the technology and the market environment and scenario and sensitivity analyses along with Monte Carlo simulations.

The unique value proposition of this arrangement is the independence of the firms – Venture Valuation is an independent pure play valuation expert, while ValueNotes is an independent research service provider; adding significantly to the objectivity of the valuation reports.

“I am very excited to work with ValueNotes to expand our valuation services in India. I see great synergies in the combination of the great local market expertise, business intelligence and research capabilities of ValueNotes and our international valuation know-how,” says Dr. Patrik Frei, CEO of Venture Valuation in Switzerland.

“This partnership opens new opportunities for ValueNotes. Venture Valuation’s expertise in valuing unlisted companies, especially in life sciences, ICT, nanotech, cleantech and renewable energy, complements ValueNotes research strengths in these verticals,” adds Arun Jethmalani, Managing Director of ValueNotes.

Recent data on private equity and venture capital investments indicate that despite the fall in volume and value of the deals year over year, India continues to be an investment destination of choice. According to a report by Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA), India (at US$4 billion) accounted for around one-fifth of the US$ 22.1 billion private equity investments received by the emerging markets across the globe in 2009. According to deal data released by Venture Intelligence, venture capital firms invested around $0.5 billion during 2009 in over 90 deals in India, indicating strong investment activity in the country.
