Welcome to the February issue of ValueNotes Connect.
Back in April last year, we wrote about some of the key changes we could expect on life in a post-Covid world. Some of these were – work from home (the most obvious of the lot), the dominance of OTT, and traditional & satellite television, an investment boost to healthcare, online education, a dismal outlook for all things related to travel & tourism, a re-jig of supply chains… and of course, how technology would save the day.
A year on and Covid-19 continues to dominate our headlines and dinner table conversations – about its new variants, mutations, double-masks, vaccinations and disinformation.
The pandemic has no doubt changed the world, and many of these changes are here to stay. Several mega-trends are already underway, and somewhat obvious, though they still have time to run. Most of these centre around technology – let’s dispense with these quickly, and then move on to some of the not-so-obvious.
We hope you enjoy reading our newsletter. And we’d love to hear your thoughts on the impact of Covid on our lives and businesses in the years to come.
10 trends for 2021 – and not all about technology or Covid!
by Arun Jethmalani
|The start of a year invariably leads to a flurry of articles and prognosis about key trends for the future. Many of these are extrapolations from the recent past – like “Work From Home (WFH) will continue in 2021”. Several mega-trends are already underway, and somewhat obvious, though they still have time to run. Most of these centre around technology and how it’s going to take over the world (actually, it already has!). Let’s dispense with these quickly – and then move on to some of the not-so-obvious.|
Random thoughts on Life in the post-Covid19 world
by Arun Jethmalani
|Even though some are still in denial, the world has fundamentally changed! Without in any way trivializing the difficulties we’re facing (some more than others), I believe we need to think seriously about our lives post Covid-19. Being prepared (as best we can) for the future is the only way forward. To start with, here are a few of the key changes that we can expect. This is not a complete list…|
