Welcome to the February issue of ValueNotes Connect.

Back in April last year, we wrote about some of the key changes we could expect on life in a post-Covid world. Some of these were – work from home (the most obvious of the lot), the dominance of OTT, and traditional & satellite television, an investment boost to healthcare, online education, a dismal outlook for all things related to travel & tourism, a re-jig of supply chains… and of course, how technology would save the day.

A year on and Covid-19 continues to dominate our headlines and dinner table conversations – about its new variants, mutations, double-masks, vaccinations and disinformation.

The pandemic has no doubt changed the world, and many of these changes are here to stay. Several mega-trends are already underway, and somewhat obvious, though they still have time to run. Most of these centre around technology – let’s dispense with these quickly, and then move on to some of the not-so-obvious.
