Indian government approves key reforms in pharma sector
The Indian government has approved promulgation of the ordinance to allow 100% FDI in the medical devices sector under the automatic route.
The move will encourage FDI inflows into the sector and will help local firms enhance their global competitiveness. As per the estimates, India imports about 70% of its requirement of medical devices. The present industry size stands at around USD 7 billion in the country. Read more >>

Two cancer hospitals to become operational by end-Jan 2015 in Punjab
The 50-bed Homi Bhabha Cancer Super Specialty Hospital will be located at Sangrur, and the 100-bed Advanced Cancer Treatment and Research Centre (ACTRC) at Bathinda.
