- Are lack of in-house resources limiting your research output?
- Are you looking for ways to reduce your turnaround time?
- Is the lack of on-the-ground presence impeding your India-focused research?
Over the last decade, we have worked with several research firms in the US, UK, Europe, India, and Singapore, via flexible engagement models. We have helped reduce their turnaround time, and have assisted them in handling spikes in their research activity. Our services include customer & competitor intelligence, database management, regular news monitoring, market intelligence, custom publications, and primary research. Examples of some of our recent projects include:
Market intelligence on the lighting solutions business: A global market research firm required an overview of the lighting solutions market in Australia, India and Singapore for its client, one of the largest providers of lighting solutions for business, home and outdoor applications. In-depth interviews with hypermarkets, supermarkets and contractors were conducted in these regions to identify associated retailers; determine the brands and their distribution channels; and to understand how buying decisions were made.
Mystery shopping to track competitor prices: A global player in the computer and related peripherals industry wanted to track its competitors’ products so it could price its products more competitively in the Indian market. The study captured and analysed the monthly / quarterly price movements of over 300 models of inkjet printers, all-in-one commercial printers and digital cameras in India. The research was conducted across channel partners in major metros in India using the mystery shopping methodology.
Alternative energy projects for emerging customers: A large energy company wanted to determine the initiatives of its competitors in the alternate energy segment targeted at rural areas and low income groups. The report focused on Georgia, India and South Africa, and included details about the companies’ efforts in the rehabilitation of gas distribution networks, biomass and LPG stoves/cooking solutions, solar power technology, and sustainable agriculture water management projects.
Analysts database for an information provider: A US-based information provider required its product, an analyst database, to be maintained and up-dated real-time. A database of approximately 8000 analysts from over 3000 global research companies was kept updated with the latest information on their profile, contact information, job title, and practice area. In addition to referring to the websites of research companies, social networking sites – such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and blogs – were also used to track analysts’ movements more accurately.
News monitoring for a global research firm: As a mission critical engagement for our client, whose business was to provide news updates to senior management of Fortune 500 companies, this engagement worked on a very short turnaround time. Over 150 news stories were abstracted, classified, tagged and uploaded everyday across a range of industries such as insurance, logistics, medical devices, shipping, telecom, etc. Information was gathered from online information databases and the Internet.
Custom reports on vertical-specific BPO trends: As a mission critical engagement for our client, whose business was to provide news updates to senior management of Fortune 500 companies, this engagement worked on a very short turnaround time. Over 150 news stories were abstracted, classified, tagged and uploaded everyday across a range of industries such as insurance, logistics, medical devices, shipping, telecom, etc. Information was gathered from online information databases and the Internet.
Top global software and BPO providers focused on accounting & ERP services: A research firm wanted to identify the leading outsourcing providers and accounting software developers in the US. We identified the top-50 players in each category. Our selection process focused on software development companies that developed accounting and ERP software for mid-market companies in the US. Similarly, the BPO companies that we identified provided accounting, finance and expense management services to clients in the region.
