The study focused on four segments – forensic, industrial hygiene, environment, and pharmaceutical & food processing – where high-end, non-routine chemical analyses were conducted. Over 120 interviews were conducted to establish the viable segments and options to enter the Indian market.
India entry strategy for a manufacturer of professional knives: A manufacturer of professional and industrial knives in the US wanted to enter the Indian market and also find a suitable partner to distribute their products. The study included market sizing, value chain analysis, competitive landscape, regulatory framework, and partner selection. Over 200 buyers and influencers were interviewed to establish the value proposition, product positioning, and suitable pricing range.
Market assessment of multi-managed funds in Asian markets: The client wanted inputs to formulate an effective strategy for launching multi-managed funds in Asia. The report detailed the current levels and expected growth of multi-managed funds (fund-of-funds & manager-of-manager-funds) in the region. The report focused on China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
Investor brand perception of Indian asset managers for an AMC in India: Our client wanted to evaluate their brand perception in the minds of Indian consumers, and gauge the synergies it could derive from their joint venture with a global leader in financial protection. The report included an overview of the Indian mutual fund industry. Over 400 retail investors were surveyed online through our website www.ValueNotes.com; more than 200 investors, brokers, distributors and advisors were interviewed; and focus groups were conducted in key Indian cities.
Corporate surveys for a competitive intelligence firm: A major Travel & Entertainment (T&E) card supplier, wanted to investigate the selection criteria of T&E corporate card programmes, and the card brands used by multinational companies, in Australia, India, Ireland, South Africa and the UK. In-depth interviews were conducted to understand the usage of T&E cards by these companies. The study focused on card usage, annual worldwide T&E spend on the card, and the Expense Management System used to track these spends.
Competitive landscape & market assessment of the Indian sales & training industry: A provider of sales & retail management (S&RM) training in India wanted to expand its client base and offerings. The report mapped the client’s positioning and competencies with its competitors. Our findings outlined the possibility of consolidation in the sector where the client did not have a presence. We identified training institutes in high-growth verticals, and consultants who already had an established brand in the training industry.
Market study of the US medical transcription industry: The client wanted to understand the market size and growth rates of the US medical transcription industry. The report provided details of the outsourced and offshored markets, and also included an analysis of the Indian service provider landscape. The study involved in-depth interviews with senior executives at hospitals in the US, and service providers in Asia and in the US.
